R Packages - multimorbidity and socialrisk

multimorbidity

Identifying comorbidities, frailty, and multimorbidity in claims and administrative data is often a duplicative process. The functions contained in this package are meant to first prepare the data to a format acceptable by all other packages, then provide a uniform and simple approach to generate comorbidity and multimorbidity metrics based on these claims data.

Current indices include:

  • Elixhauser comorbidities and index
  • Charlson comorbidities and index
  • Claims Frailty Index
  • Multimorbidity Weighted Index
  • Nicholson and Fortin Conditions

This package is available for download on CRAN.

Current taxonomies include:

  • The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
  • The Missouri Hospital Association
  • Social Interventions Research & Evaluation Network at the University of California, San Francisco
