Predictors and Outcomes of Emergency Surgery

Working with Dr. Vanessa Ho of MetroHealth and Case Western Reserve University, we use the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS) to identify predictors of emergency general surgery (EGS) as well as important factors which contribute to poor outcomes. These factors include everything from utilization and comorbidities, to functional status and other limitations in daily life.
